For cattle, the Grazier System is generally loaded with the polywire of
personal choice, commonly with one quarter mile (1320 feet) of a
multistrand polywire on one Standard Winch Corner, or one half mile (2640
feet) of polywire on one Oversized Winch corner. Geared 3-to-1 ratio
reels are also available for rapid rewinding of these long fences.
A Cattlemans Kit must always be customized according to one's
preferences and the size of the target area to contain, with Winch Corners of either size,
adequate lineposts and Standard Corners, and jumper wires for connecting to
any existing fence charger.
Half-mile long Grazier System fences permit the easiest and fastest means
ever for turning cattle onto otherwise unfenced fields of stalks, or for
controlling herd movements on large pasture acreages.
Polywire, because of its small diameter, permits much longer runs of
fencing material at lower cost than does ElectroBraid rope, and might
initially seem attractive to horse owners. While we would not refuse
to sell a polywire system for use with horses, we cannot recommend
it. Polywire is abrasive, and will readily cut horse flesh. We
have had personal experience with polywire cutting a horse's leg like a
saw when, as horses will, the horse stepped over the wire, got shocked,
and began to run. ElectroBraid's large diameter and nature of a
soft, nylon rope will not readily cut horse flesh. We recommend
polywire be limited to use with cattle.
